‌Avoid A Connecticut Dog Bite When Out Walking This Spring

Friday, April 2nd, 2021 by | Posted In: Uncategorized

The weather is warmer, which means we are all getting out and moving a whole lot more.  There is nothing more refreshing when a warm spring evening invites us to go for a walk around the block.  This type of stroll can turn from wonderful to scary in the blink of an eye when you come across an agitated dog.

Interacting with unfamiliar dogs can often lead to getting a Connecticut dog bite if you do not take proper precautions.  If you’re venturing out on a walk you’ll want to proceed carefully so you do not run into any issues.

Here are some precautions you can take to avoid any dangerous interactions with dogs along the way;

  1. Approach any and all dog carefully and only with the permission of the owner
  2. Always approach the animal from the front so he/she can see you coming
  3. Do not make sudden movements toward the dog
  4. If the dog shows signs of agitation avoid interacting with it and continue walking
  5. Do not feed an unfamiliar dog

When you’re out for a walk this spring you can avoid a Connecticut dog bite by taking the above approach.  You cannot entirely prevent being bitten but you can minimize the chances that you will run into danger by taking these precautions.

Whether you are a dog lover or not, animals can be unpredictable and need to be approached with caution.  The way you interact with a dog has as much to do with you as it does with the dog so stay safe by treating the dog gently.
