A 23-year-old Bridgeport man was killed after crashing his Mini Cooper into the back of a tractor-trailer parked in a no-parking zone at a rest area on Interstate 95 in Fairfield early Thursday, state police said, a tragic repeat of a 2007 accident at the Milford rest stop that took the life of another driver. In that case, the tractor trailer was illegally parked in the breakdown lane near the rest stop entrance when a car struck the tractor trailer from behind, killing the driver instantly. Although the police report concluded that the driver who died was at fault for failure to drive in an established lane, attorneys at McEnery Price Messey & Sullivan representing his family, received a total award of $1.2 million in the case.
