There is nothing more joyful than having a newborn baby and bringing her home from the hospital for the first time.  The smile on her face, the warm loving embrace of a new life ready to tackle the world head on.  There is nothing you wouldn’t do as her parent to keep her safe and out of harm’s way.

That is why you need to ensure that her car seat is installed correctly.  When it comes to car seats there is so much that can go wrong and so much information you need to make sure you purchase the right car seat and install it correctly.  In the event that you are in a Connecticut auto accident and it is not installed correctly there is the potential for a tragedy.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 2 out of every 3 car seats are not installed correctly and are being misused.  This is a staggering number, but one that should give you permission to seek help in getting yours to fit in your car just right.  Many local police stations offer car seat checks to ensure that your seat is properly installed in your car.  If you local police station does not offer the service they may be able to point you in the right direction.

In this country, every 33 seconds there is an accident involving a child and many of these accidents are made worse due to incorrect usage of a car seat, booster seat, or seatbelt.  Making sure your child stays safe is your #1 job as their parent, so an additional safety check before you get in the car may be in order.

With so many accidents involving children in the United States you may want to consult an attorney if you or your child are ever injured in a Connecticut auto accident.  Our office is available to review your case.
