Connecticut Bus Accident Kills Enfield Man

As the weather gets warmer, more and more Connecticut residents will be out and about. An Enfield man was recently involved in a pedestrian accident that ultimately took his life.
The accident took place on Route 5 when a school bus struck him after 6 a.m. Luckily there were no students on the school bus.
Cases like these can be extremely difficult to navigate as there are several factors that come into play when determining liability.
The municipality: Is the city liable in any way for this accident? Were there proper signs indicating to the driver there was a cross walk? Was there a cross walk? When pedestrian accidents involve the city or state as a defendant, there is a very limited amount of time to file notice of a claim (as little as 90 days).
The school bus company: Was the driver properly trained and licensed? Was the bus itself up to code?
