Connecticut Slip & Falls & How You Can Protect Yourself

Friday, February 2nd, 2018 by | Posted In: Slip and Fall

The winter months in Connecticut can make treacherous sidewalks and walkways even more hazardous with slippery snow and ice covering them.  That’s why this time of year it is important to know how to protect yourself in case you do slip and fall and injure yourself on these types of walkways.

Prevention is the best way to protect yourself from injury, but after a fall there are steps you can take to protect your long term interests.

  1. Take pictures of where your injuries occurred.  Photographic evidence is the best way to demonstrate the conditions that caused your injury.
  2. Don’t give any statement, formal or otherwise to the parties involved or their insurance company adjusters.
  3. Seek medical attention immediately.  A medical professional will be able to help assess your condition and the sooner this assessment can be made, the better.

Taking these few steps in the event that you are injured as a result of a slip and fall can be the difference between spending the winter months in agony from your injuries or being fairly compensated for your injuries.

If you experience a slip and fall this winter season, seek medical attention and then contact McEnery Price Messey & Sullivan.
