Every 8 Miles Driver Assist Features Failed In New Test

Congratulations you just bought a shiny new car with all the bells and whistles on it.  The dealership undoubtedly touted all of the incredible new safety features that they have implemented into the car.  It is really quite impressive isn’t it?

Be warned though, as new research suggests that often technologies that are built into new cars that are designed to provide safety increasingly are interfering with a drivers ability to stay safe and avoid a Connecticut auto accident than actually keeping them safe.

After driving over 4,000 real-world miles to test some of these safety features researchers at AAA found some troubling information about how well these systems actually function.  While these features show promise they are not entirely up to the challenge of keeping you safe at the moment.

Some of the findings from the study include:

The last statistics is actually a good one at this point because it is clear from the AAA study that these technologies are quite far from being perfected.  Without a significant overhaul of how the systems work in real world tests they are, in many cases, more likely to cause a Connecticut auto accident than they are to prevent one.

The promise of these technologies is one that has been escaping car manufacturers for many decades.  While the technology exists now it may be years off from being technology that is trusted and is safe enough to take over driving from our hands.

Getting into an accident can be a scary thing but it is even scarier when you’re not the one driving.  If you’ve been involved in an accident where driver assist technologies were a factor you may need an attorney to review your case.  Contact our office and one of our experienced attorneys will work to protect your long-term interests.
