Understanding Connecticut Sidewalk Laws While Exercising Outdoors

Under Stay at Home orders issued by Connecticut’s governor, more and more people are working from home and getting out and about in their neighborhoods and communities. This type of activity includes running and walking along our sidewalks. 

As a pedestrian, it is important to understand Connecticut laws regarding sidewalk safety. It is State law that when a pedestrian is standing in a crosswalk that motorists must stop to allow them to cross.

If you or a loved one was injured on a city or state sidewalk:

Slip and fall accidents can cause serious injuries. Do not speak to an insurance adjuster for the municipality without consulting an attorney to discuss all of your options.
